Find out which actions could have been better explained in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’
Becoming the second film in the franchise created by James Cameron featuring the alien race known as the Na’vi, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ hit theaters in December 2022, becoming the third-highest-grossing film in history by amassing $2.32 billion in theaters around the world.
Although the continuation of the plot experienced by Jake Sully in pandora be a huge success, the film does not clarify all the choices made in the plot since there are some questionable actions in the film. So we’ve put together 5 things in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ that don’t make sense, or that could have been better explained.
1. Kiri’s existence
Inserted in the family of Jake and Neytiri, Kiri is the biological daughter of Dr. Grace Augustine, even if her existence does not follow the clear paths of logic.
That’s because Kiri’s mother was hit by Quaritch at the end of the first film, passing away after trying to transfer consciousness from her human body to her avatar in the sacred place known as the Tree of Souls.
The continuation shows that the scientist’s avatar was preserved in a tank with amniotic fluid, but no explanation for this act was provided. Furthermore, nowhere in the previous film is the possibility of the Doctor being carrying a child mentioned, nor is there any justification for how the lifeless body was able to give birth to Kiri.
two . Jake and his family abandon Spider
When Quaritch’s avatar returns to Pandora, he ends up taking Spider prisoner. The strange thing is that the members of the Sully family do not try to find Spider again to free him, because, even though Neytiti did not consider him as a son, the boy grew up with Neteyam, Kiri, Lo’ak and Tuk, in addition to which, he learn all about the Omatikaya operation, which is one of the reasons Jake takes his family away from the woods.
3. Jake asking for help outside the Metkayina clan
Jake left the Omaticaya tribe to protect his people and his family, even if it meant that the clan would be left without a leader, so he chooses a new clan to live in, the Metkayina, who live on the islands of Pandora, where he could disappear.
Even so, in the first adversity that his family faces living with the Metkayina, he does not hesitate and contacts his human friends who live in the community of Pandora to help Kiri, even though he knows that this could have serious consequences.
Help manages to reach the island by means of a ship, which ended up being located by the GDR, causing Quaritch to find the water clan and put Jake’s family’s life in danger again. Knowing this danger, why didn’t Jake wait for the Metkayina’s help before requesting outside help? After all, it was Ronal who could save the girl.
4. Tonowari and Ronal not participating in the clash against the GDR
When Jake and Neytiri face off against Quaritch, Tonowari and Ronal, the leaders of the Metkayina clan just walk out of the picture, staying away from combat until the end of the movie. Why does it happen? The disappearance of the pair is not explained, although their daughter, Tsireya, was also involved in the conflict as one of the hostages of the GDR.
