5 Facts That Don’t Make Sense About ‘Avatar’

Under the direction of the filmmaker James Cameronthe prestigious ‘Avatar’ hit theaters in 2009 to present the entire narrative involving the alien planet Pandora and its relationship with Earth from the perspective of Jake Sully, the human who falls in love with the local culture and starts fighting for survival the same.

Although the plot broke the box office record, becoming the biggest in history and won the Oscar for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects in 2010, the story is not perfect, presenting some points that run away from logic if analyzed coldly. .

With that in mind, RECREIO has gathered below 5 facts that make no sense in ‘Avatar’, as analyzed by Screenrant.

1. Pandora not having oxygen

It is explained during the film that Pandora is a toxic environment for humans, as it lacks oxygen, which is why avatars were created, as these biological bodies are controlled by the human mind, allowing ordinary people to walk around the planet without risk of dying from not being able to breathe.

However, if there is an overload of carbon dioxide in the alien environment, how is it possible for huge and extensive forests to exist? The question is not answered in the film.

2. The Avatar body cannot be tracked

There is a great technology behind the creation of an Avatar, making the development of a single body extremely costly and slow. Despite this, no one thought of inserting a tracking device in case any of them lose contact with the ship, as happens with jake sully who ends up isolated in the forest, which causes him to be found by Neytiri and taken to the Na’vi village without the scientists knowing.

Given the context of human exploration of Pandora’s environment, there is no way to explain how the Na’vi can be so receptive to Earth’s inhabitants, as the alien people have a strong connection to the nature of the place.

Furthermore, the fact that humans have recreated a biological body similar to theirs just to make it easier for them to exploit could be considered an offense, or even a major threat, but still, they manage to make exceptions.

4. Quaritch’s robot

In the scene where Quaritch enters a combat robot and fights Neytiri, there is one aspect of the equipment that could be improved. This is because, there is a moment when Quaritch takes a large combat knife from a holster, as a human would, but it would be more logical that the blade was already attached to the robot’s arm.

5. Jake Sully taming the imposing Toruk

Considered the greatest predator in the skies of Pandora, the Toruk is the animal that is least willing to connect with the Na’vi during its lifetime, choosing only five beings to connect with throughout history that receive the title of Toruk Makto, or “Knight of the Last Shadow”, one of them being Neytiri’s great-great-grandfather.

So how was it possible that Jake Sully was able to tame the animal so easily having lived on Pandora for such a short time?
