It’s not the Volturi: find out who is the oldest vampire in the entire ‘Twilight’ saga
During the “Twilight” saga, created by the author Stephenie Meyer in the early 2000’s, we are introduced to countless vampires, all with different clans, nationalities, abilities and forms of transformation. But, have you ever wondered which one is the oldest in the entire franchise? Recreation tells you!
older vampire
In the Cullen family, the eldest is Carlisle. According to the work, he was born in 1640 in London, and turned into a vampire when he was 23 years old, in 1663. In 2005, the year in which the first book was released, the patriarch would have completed 365 years. However, he is not the oldest in the entire saga.
As found by the ScreenRant portal, the oldest vampire in “Twilight” is Amun, the leader of the Egyptian Clan. His exact age, as well as the date of his birth, were never revealed for sure, however, it is explained that the character would have come to the world before the year 2500 BC
His transformation would have happened before the rise to power of the Romanian clan, known to be one of the oldest among vampires. The Romanians lost their position after being defeated by the Volturi, who also attacked the Egyptians a century later in search of superiority.
Amun and his mate, Kebi, ended up being the only two of the clan who survived the conflict thanks to their enormous survival instinct. For thousands of years, the two had to do whatever they could to stay hidden from the Volturi, while they sought to rebuild the group.
The two would meet again in “Breaking Dawn”, when Carlisle asks for his help to testify against the false accusations made by the Volturi. However, that almost didn’t happen. Thanks to his distrust, Amun accused the leader of the Cullens of trying to steal members of his clan, mainly Benjamin, his greatest protégé. He ended up changing his mind towards the end and, in the film, remains in the clearing throughout the confrontation.
In the movies, Amun was played by the actor Omar Metwally, and only appears in the final film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2”. Remember the trailer!
