Check out some facts about Hufflepuff, one of the Hogwarts houses, that don’t make sense
Among the four houses of Hogwarts, Hufflepuff does not have any great prominence in the Harry Potter books and films. The history of this house is little explored, which can raise many questions among fans of the wizarding universe. Check out five facts that don’t make any sense in Hufflepuff!
1. Are considered irrelevant to the story
Although Cedric Diggory figures prominently in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, no other member of Hufflepuff becomes important throughout Harry’s journey. And it is noteworthy that the character who was played by Robert Pattison appeared in the spotlight mainly to be a competitor to the protagonist, both in the Triwizard Tournament, and both to get Cho’s attention. But after the character’s death, no other students in the house became relevant in the story.
2. Hufflepuff students are underrated
The main value of Hufflepuff is loyalty and its members are very dedicated to their personal relationships and have a strong work ethic. Because of these characteristics, the house is always seen as the one that accepts students who do not fit in with the others. Which is a mistake, since such traits can be found in students from other houses. Why are they underestimated for caring about others when there are students from other houses who think the same way?
3. Not popular
With the exception of Cedric, Hufflepuff students are not very popular at Hogwarts. They are looked down upon by Slytherin and sometimes by Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, who think they are too sweet and friendly. Additionally, they are portrayed as unathletic, unambitious, and also not prominent in any meaningful way.
4. Magical Creatures

Hufflepuff was supposed to gain prominence during Harry Potter’s third year at Hogwarts, which is when the protagonist starts attending Care of Magical Creatures classes, which was taught by Hagrid.
That’s because, the students of the house are proud that Newt Scamander was one of the members of Hufflepuff. The former student, who is the protagonist of the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise, was the authority when it came to magical creatures. So why don’t they strive to uphold Scamander’s legacy?
5. Common Room

Hufflepuff’s common room is located in a basement, next to the kitchen, which doesn’t make much sense. The symbolic element of the house is the earth while the symbolic animal is the badger, so it would make much more sense if the common room was located near a garden or a greenhouse.
Vale recalls that the teacher in charge of the house during Harry Potter’s years at Hogwarts was the Herbology teacher, which is yet another reason why the common room is not in a basement.
