This Sunday, May 7, the Prince and Princess of Wales enjoyed The Long Walk while awaiting the closing concert of Charles III’s coronation. Emotions ran high among some royal fans.
Celebrations continue on both sides of the UK this Sunday, May 7. Yesterday, the country celebrated the coronation of its new king Charles III and Queen Camilla. While waiting for the closing concert of this historic event, which will take place tonight at Windsor Castle, some members of the royal family went to meet the British. Like Prince William and Kate Middleton, who enjoyed a tour of the Long Walk, the avenue leading to Windsor.
As she shook hands with her supporters, the Princess of Wales was touched by the presence of a young woman who was more than excited to meet her. Prince William’s wife, who is dressed casually in a waistcoat, jeans and sneakers, then bowed before asking: “Do you want a hug?” And the child answers excitedly. “Yes ma’am please” before throwing himself into her arms.
The footage was captured by several British news channels. George’s mother Charlotte and Louis can be seen holding the tearful young girl, patting her on the back comfortingly as her mother looks on. Like the thousands of supporters present, he had taken care to adorn himself in a dress in honor of the monarchy. So we can see the patterns of his clothing representing the symbols of the country between the British flag and the crown of England.
Deeply grateful
A public speech given at Buckingham Palace after the first announcement after the coronation. According to the Daily Mail, a spokesman for Charles III and Camilla explained that the royal couple is “deeply moved” by the national celebration dedicated to them. “Their Majesties were deeply moved by yesterday’s events and deeply grateful to all those who helped make it such a glorious event, and to the many others who turned out to show their support in such large numbers across London and beyond,” explained:
Today’s concert, which will close this historic event with music and great fanfare, will notably welcome international artists such as Lionel Richie and Katy Perry. It will be broadcast live on television.
