In addition, the album topped the World Albums, Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts, as well as entering the Top 200 Albums chart, occupying the second position, a feat that had also been achieved before by his groupmate, Jiminlast month, with his debut album “FACE”, which made his album then the second solo album by a Korean artist to reach the ranking on the Billboard.
Another fact worth noting is that Sucks became the first Korean soloist to get more than one album in the Top 20, since in addition to “D-DAY”, in 2020 the mixtape “D-2” occupied the 11th place on the chart.
The new album, according to Luminate (via Soompi), generated 140,000 copies during the week ending April 27, making it the best-selling album of the week and the fourth biggest sales week of any album in the United States in 2023, as 122,000 of those units were from traditional album sales.
To top it off, there were also 12,500 streaming-equivalent (SEA) copies of the album, meaning the album racked up 17.9 million on-demand audio streams over the week. As well as, 5,500 were track equivalent (TEA) in its first week.
Meanwhile, the title track of Sucks, “Haegeum”, became the idol’s fourth song to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart by reaching #58. Before her, the idol had already charted ‘Daechwita’ at number 76, the collaboration with Juice Wrld ‘Girl of My Dreams’ at number 29, and the feat with PSY ‘That That’ at number 80 on the chart.
If you thought the feats were over, you thought wrong! Sucks also extended his record for the most entries on the Billboard Digital Song Sales chart by any K-pop soloist, as with the exception of ‘People Pt.2’, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart last month, all tracks from “D-DAY” reached the Billboard Top 30. Look:
- 1st position: “HUH?!” (feat J-Hope)
- 8th position: “AMYGDALA”
- 12th position: “Snooze” (feat Ryuichi Sakamoto and The Rose’s Woosung)
- 13th position: “D-Day”
- 15th position: “Life Goes On”
- 19th position: “SDL”
- 20th position: “Polar Night”
- 24th position: “Interlude
- 26th position: “Dawn”
The top 10 spots on the World Digital Song Sales chart were also Sucks. That’s because, “Haegeum” debuted at No. 1, “HUH?!” “AMYGDALA” at #5, “Snooze” at #6, “D-DAY” at #7, “Life Goes On” at #8, “SDL” at #9, and “Polar Night” at #10 . So, like those on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, where “Haegeum” entered at number one, followed by “HUH?!” at #2, “Snooze” at #3, “D-Day” at #4, “SDL” at #6, and “Polar Night” at #7.
