This Wednesday, the 19th, the world of k-pop was shaken by the sad news of the death of moonbin, member of ASTRO, aged 25. The news was revealed by the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, and echoed by the South Korean portal Yonhap News.
The official statement issued by the Gangam Police said: “The police believe that moonbin took his own life and are considering performing an autopsy while investigating the cause of death.” Fantagio, the company responsible for ASTRO, has issued a statement confirming the death.
Through Twitter, several fanbases dedicated to different groups and k-pop idols have spoken out in a beautiful chain of respect and mourning to pay condolences to fans, friends and family of moonbin. Many accounts also decided to suspend their publications in respect of what happened. Check out!

The idol had a show in Brazil scheduled as the Moonbin&Sanha unit for June 5th in São Paulo. In addition, the duo was also one of the confirmed attractions for Dream Concert 2023, one of the biggest k-pop events in South Korea.
