This was stated by the head of the State Service for the Quality of Education of Ukraine Ruslan Hurak
According to him, this will be the “best option” to solve the problem of educational losses inflicted by Ukraine due to COVID-19 and the war.
It is possible to consider a set of methods and techniques of compensation of educational losses. But we have the NUS reform (new Ukrainian school), and we have declared in the legislation that we will switch to a 12-year specialized education system in 2027. Therefore, I am personally convinced that we have a unique chance to switch to a 12-year education system earlier, already in 2024,” Gurak said during the presentation of the results of the study “Education during the war”.
He is convinced that Ukraine has a chance to switch to a 12-year education system earlier, already in 2024. This will help to balance the educational program in such a way as to take into account all the missed classes (through air raid alerts, lack of electricity and the Internet), take into account the transition period at each level, and we will be able to prepare for 2027 – the full implementation of a specialized high school.
