Despite the feature film bringing the story of the game to the cinema screens, there will be some changes. The main one, and which we can already see in the trailer, is that Princess Peach will no longer be a damsel in distress.
In the various Nintendo Mario Bros. games, the character is kidnapped by the villain Bowser, and it is up to Mario to save her. In the movie, things will be a little different: the protagonist will have to save his brother, Luigi, and thus, the princess will become the leader of the Mushroom Kingdom.
Second Aaron Horvath It is Michael Jelenic, the animation directors, the production will show a more powerful Peach. In an interview with Total Film, they said:
Mario’s goal is to save his brother from Bowser’s clutches. He has to embark on this epic adventure to do that. So Luigi, who is a notoriously nervous and anxious character, finds himself in the worst possible situation: having to survive Bowser’s interrogations and make it through this gauntlet.’
Still about Peach, horvath commented that she, when given the chance to be involved, can be a striking and memorable character. He points out that the princess is focused on being the leader of the people and not running away from Bowser’s clutches.
She is the monarch who leads this kingdom of hapless yet adorable frogs. We were thinking about how strong this person would need to be to protect these people. All of this gave rise to the idea of the Peach character in our film.”
