With little information about the remake, sources reveal that Disney has finally chosen the actress to give life to the protagonist of ‘Lilo & Stitch’
New for Lilo & Stitch fans! This Friday, the 31st, Disney announced the actress that she will play Lilo in the live-action remake of the story that takes place in Hawaii. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the little Maia Kealoha was chosen to give life to the protagonist.
The live-action of “Lilo & Stitch” has been confirmed since 2018 and there are still few details about the production. The information that had been released was that Dean Fleischer-Camp (“Marcel the Shell with Shoes On”) will direct the film, while Chris Kekaniokalani Bright will sign the script. No release date has been announced for the film, which will be released exclusively on Disney+.
Now with the addition of Maya, the cast already has two names. The actor Zach Galifianakis, known for his work as Alan Garner, in “Se Beber, Não Case!”, had already been confirmed as a member of the production. However, Disney has not revealed what his role will be.
“Lilo & Stitch” was released in 2002 and has the following synopsis:
Lilo is a girl who loves to take care of less favored animals. Lilo has the custom of collecting recyclable garbage on the beaches to buy food for fish with the money received. Until, one fine day, she finds a dog and decides to adopt it. However, this dog is actually Stitch, an alien being who is one of the most dangerous criminals in the galaxy. Now, Stitch hides four of his six legs and decides to pass himself off as an ordinary dog, befriending Lilo.”
