In a recent interview, Poncho recalled the tragedy on RBD’s first visit to Brazil and the trauma he has because of the episode
This year, after 15 years of separation, RBD will tour “Soy Rebelde Tour”, which will feature shows here in Brazil. The tour of the Mexican band formed in the telenovela “Rebelde”, will not have the complete original cast, because of the six members, only five agreed to participate in the reunion. The actor Alfonso HerreraPocho, decided to stay out of the concert marathon to focus on his career.
Even not participating in current projects, Poncho he is always asked about the years he was a member of the group, and even about current issues involving the band. An example of this is that in a recent interview with the newspaper El País in Mexico, the star spoke about one of the most delicate moments of RBD: the tragedy that happened here in Brazil, when the group made their first visit to the country.
On February 4, 2006, anahi (Mia), Dulce Maria (Roberta), Maite Perroni (Lupita), Alfonso Herrera (Miguel), Christian Chavez (Giovanni) and Christopher Uckemann (Diego), would perform a free show in a parking lot of a mall in the south zone of São Paulo. The event had more than 10 thousand people throughout the day. At one point, some fans who were further back from the crowd started pushing the others to try to get as close to the idols as possible. From that, more than 100 people were injured and 3 people died trampled in the middle of the confusion that became the first visit of the RBD in Brazil.
To the Mexican newspaper, Poncho revealed that he has traumas related to the tragic episode:
To this day I still feel a little scared when I go to a place where there are a lot of people. We were alone and we supported each other because we had no psychological support to deal with this situation. It was very difficult”
The actor also recalled the meeting he had with one of the relatives of one of the victims:
Years later we returned to Brazil, we found the family and I met the father of one of the girls who lost her life. That event marked me in a very deep way and as much as I try to turn it around, it is still there”
The Return of RBD
Herrera he also commented on the reunion and the new tour of the former bandmates. The star made it clear that he wishes good luck and that he still has a lot of affection for the other members.
We share things that no one else will ever know and that the six of us have been there through happy times and hard times.”
Last Monday, the 27th, the group announced 4 more extra shows in Brazil. On November 10th, the group will perform in Rio de Janeiro and on the 12th, 13th and 19th of the same month, in São Paulo. Check the ad:
