Jimin became the first South Korean soloist to top a Spotify music chart with his solo debut. Understand!
He continues to make history! Last Sunday, the 26th, the title track of the solo debut of JiminBTS’ “Like Crazy” became the first track by a South Korean artist to reach #1 on the daily Spotify Global Top Songs chart, surpassing 6 million streams.
But the success does not stop there. On the same day, the idol also made his biggest debut on Spotify with the English version of “Like Crazy”, reaching the second position also on the Global Top Songs chart, with exact 6,634,838 filtered streams on the first day alone.
Officially launched last Friday, the 24th, the first solo album by Jimin, titled “FACE”, has also been a huge hit on international music charts. On iTunes, the album was number one in 111 different regions, while in South Korea, the BTS member became the first solo artist to surpass the impressive 1 million sales mark on Hanteo during the first day.
In addition to the title track “Like Crazy”, the album “FACE” also consists of five more songs: “Face-off”, “Interlude: Dive”, “Alone”, “Set Me Free Pt.2” and “Like Crazy (English Version)”. Check out the MV for the title track!
With your debut, Jimin becomes the fifth BTS member to release as a soloist. The first of them was Sucks with the release of the solo mixtape, ‘Agust D’, in 2016, followed by j-hope, which in 2018 made its individual debut through the mixtape entitled “Hope World”.
