5 facts that don’t make sense in ‘Aladdin’

Check Out Some Questionable Moments From Disney’s ‘Aladdin’

In 1992, Disney released “Aladdin”, an animation that follows the story of a young commoner who, with the help of a 10,000-year-old Genie, does everything to conquer the princess of Agrabbah, Jasmine, where together they face the sorcerer Jafar, who tries to steal the kingdom’s throne and dreams of becoming the new Sultan.

With just over 30 years of success, the classic animation, which remains extremely loved by fans worldwide, has some moments in its plot that don’t make much sense — and Recreio will present you 5 of them now. Check out!

1. Jasmine’s marriage emergency

At the beginning of the film, the Sultan confronts his daughter Jasmine, stating that the princess needs to choose a prince to marry within three days — something that the girl completely disagrees with, since she dreams of having a marriage made out of true love. But why does she need to choose a suitor so quickly? The animation doesn’t explain.

2. The marriage law has not been repealed before

Still talking about the wedding, at the end of the feature, after everything is back to normal, the Sultan decides to change the rule that Jasmine would have to marry a prince, so that the princess now has the freedom to choose the person she wants. However, if he already knew from the beginning of the film that his daughter wasn’t happy with the idea, why didn’t he change the law sooner?

3. Around the world in one night?

The scene from “An Ideal World” is, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the film. In addition to being extremely romantic, it features Jasmine and Aladdin on the magic carpet as they take a journey visiting some of the most famous sights in the world, such as the Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China. But how did they do it all in just one night? Was the rug that fast?

4. Genie didn’t help Aladdin from his drowning any faster

Shortly after the romantic walk with Jasmine on the carpet, the castle guards manage to capture Aladdin, where they tie him up and throw him into the sea. Despite struggling to break free, he can’t. Meanwhile, Genie notices that the master is in trouble and, to save him, tries to get the boy to rub the lamp so that the wish is fulfilled. The curious thing is that, at the beginning of the film, Genie has already saved Aladdin in the Cave of Wonders without him fulfilling a wish. So why didn’t he do it again?

5. The origin of Jafar’s powers

To achieve his greatest desire, which is to become the Sultan of Agrabbah and marry Jasmine, the villain Jafar uses his powers present in the snake staff that is always in his hands to hypnotize and manipulate everyone. But, how did he get this item? And where do these powers come from?
