Man Dies Of Heart Attack While Burying Choked Girlfriend, Police Say

TRENTON, SC (AP)-Investigators say a 60-year-old man who strangled his girlfriend died of a heart attack while burying his body in a South Carolina backyard.

Agents found the body of Joseph Anthony McKinnon on Saturday after neighbors called and reported an unconscious man in Trenton, according to the Egfield County Sheriff’s Office.

In investigating McKinnon’s death, lawmakers found the body wrapped in garbage bags in a newly excavated grave and determined it was his girlfriend, 65-year-old Patricia Ruth Dent, police said. investigator.

Agents who identified Dent’s autopsy said he had been strangled and neighbors told officers they saw McKinnon dig a grave in his yard the previous day.

An autopsy at McKinnon revealed that he had died of a heart attack. MEPs said he was almost done filling the pit when the shovel went down, disappeared and collapsed.
