Will Smith may have an Oscar, but apparently he has no idea how Chris Rock feels about him.
Although Rock goes into detail about his negative feelings about Smith in his new Netflix special, “Selective Outrage,” the former “Fresh Prince” somehow thinks he can make things right with the comic.
blacksmith he’s still intent on repairing his relationship with Rock, which soured after the actor slapped the comic during last year’s Oscars, according to People.
Smith has not commented on Rock’s special, but a source told People that the actor has ‘I’ve felt terrible for so long’ about the hit and I said it was’tried unsuccessfully to make amends with Chris as best he could.”
The source added that Smith has been leaning on his family for the past 12 months and that “helped him look inside himself and mature.” As a result, the source says Smith is “better, but still repentant.”
Anything is possible, but the smart money suggests Smith will be waiting a long time for Rock to accept his apology, especially based on the jokes Rock made during the Netflix special.
“I’ve rooted for Will Smith my whole life, and now I’m watching ‘Emancipation’ just to watch him watch,” Rock said, later adding, “Anyone who says ‘I’m at a loss for words’ has never been hit with fist in the face. Words hurt when you write them on a brick.
Other people seem to be more forgiving.
Late last month, Smith managed to win back some fans with this self-deprecating TikTok video.
