TESTIMONY.- Annabelle dreamed of starting a family for a long time. Despite the dangers of late pregnancy, the judgment of others and an unwilling spouse, she gave birth to a daughter at age 50.
Annabelle is no ordinary young mother. At the age of 50, she gave birth to a girl, her first child. A child she had dreamed of for a long time, but who arrived much later than expected. “At 30, I found myself alone following a long history and it took me a long time to get over that,” comments Annabelle. Then I had a hard time meeting someone and the relationship I had wasn’t working. The men ran away because of my desire for a child. Agonizing love failures that pull her away, each a little more, from her motherhood plan.
Annabelle’s journey is no surprise to Lori Yeghisyan, a clinical psychologist specializing in perinatal care. In his office, he often meets women with a similar profile. “Some people find themselves single at the age when they have a child and meet a partner later. There is a great desire to become a mother among them, which has not yet been fulfilled,” testifies the psychologist.
