5 Unforgettable Disney Villains

In addition to the evil, the appearance and abilities of these antagonists make them Disney characters impossible to forget.

Marking several generations and gaining new stories each year, Disney films are responsible for providing some of the first encounters of several children with complex narratives, capable of causing emotion, fear and a lot of happiness in less than two hours of film.

These feelings are passed through the songs and the incredible characters created, and among the figures that help to pass the messages that help to shape the character of countless people, are the villains, who through their ambitious, selfish and cruel actions, show that the ‘dark side’ is not worth it.

Even though today the list of villains at Casa do Mickey has animals, gods and men, the first ones to complicate the lives of the good guys and girls were the women, since the villainous antagonists have been present since the studio’s first long-term animation, that is, since 1937. With that in mind, we have listed below 5 unforgettable villains from disney. Check out!

1. Evil Queen

Disney’s first villain couldn’t be left out of the list! The Evil Queen first appears in ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’. The vain and cruel character is one of the most cartoonish antagonists of the studio, being impossible to forget her purple costume, the big golden crown, the imposing arched eyebrows and her motivation: to be the most beautiful in the whole kingdom.

It is also worth remembering that, due to its popularity, the character gained representations in the flesh of great Hollywood stars, such as Charlize Theron in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ (2012), Julia Roberts in the feature ‘Mirror, Mirror’ (2012) and Lana Parrilla in the series ‘Once Upon a Time…’ (2011), which made the image of the villain even more difficult to forget.

two . Cruella de Vil

“Cruel Cruel, Cruella Cruel Is more treacherous than a rattlesnake”! The music of Cruella de Vill, character of ‘101 Dalmatians’, already says a lot about her personality and reveals why she is one of the most beloved characters in the studio: her cruelty, since the villain who turns the beautiful puppies into a coat of skin.

Just like the Evil Queen, the character also came to life in a live-action adventure, but, unlike the antagonist who offers poisoned apples, Cruella was the protagonist of her own story, which took shape through the interpretation of Emma Stone in 2021.

3. Maleficent

Appearing in ‘Sleeping Beauty’, Maleficent is one of Disney’s most fearsome villains as her calm voice could quickly raise every hair to the last hair when she demonstrates what she is capable of using her green magic or else when her side brutal revealed itself when exploiting its powers, being able to even transform into a large dragon during an outburst of rage.

Although feared, the character had her kind and sensitive side explored in the original live-action starring Angelina Jolie in 2014.

4. Ursula

The Sea Witch, better known as Ursula, uses humor and sarcasm to convey fear. Powerful, manipulative and smooth-talking, the sorceress manages to promote deals with high costs to pay, and when she has to collect the debt, she spares no effort, and can even transform herself into a maritime giant.

Ursula’s looks and her powers are one that will stay in your memory forever, even more so when she introduces them for the first time in her musical number.

5. Mother Gothel

Mother Gothel is the villain that, if brought to the real world, would become even scarier, as she uses her maternal image to blackmail and keep Rapunzel trapped inside the tower to meet her selfish desires. The character of ‘Tangled’ makes clear the use of aggressive passive language and the exploration of the princess’s fear in her solo song. Listen!
