Everything we already know about YG Entertainment’s new group

THE BEGINNING OF A DREAM

The first steps towards the formation of the new group took place about four years ago, when YG Entertainment applied, in December 2019, for the patent for BABYMONSTER, followed by the same application in February 2020 for BAEMON, a shortened version of the same name. .

THE FIRST NEWS

A few months later, more precisely in September 2020, a report with predictions from YG Plus revealed that the group had already started preparations to make the long-awaited debut. The revelation was followed by a financial report from Hana Financial released in November of the same year, saying that YG would introduce the girls in early 2021.

As early as 2021, several communication portals revealed that the agency would introduce its new group soon. In May, YG confirmed one of them, the OSEN article that pointed out that the new formation (without mentioning the name of the group) would debut in the second half of that year.

The group did not make their debut that year, so new rumors emerged indicating that after August 2022 the girls would finally make their debut.

END OF RUMORS

As already known by K-pop fans, in 2022 YG did not debut any girlgroup, but, by surprise and before the year turned, the company published on its social networks, on December 30, 2022, a poster with the message “ YG NEXT MOVEMENT” in an image that showed the silhouette of seven girls and promised news for the first day of January 2023. Fulfilling the promise, on the first day of this year, the agency published a video on its official YouTube channel introducing the group as “a baby that has the YG genes”, as said by the founder and general producer of YG, Yang Hyun Suk, in the preview. Look!

THE MEMBERS

YG will introduce BABYMONSTER members’ skills and information little by little.
