Some Disney antagonists are just as interesting as the protagonists; find out which ones could have a story of their own!
In order to build a good story, it is necessary that the plot of the supporting actors be as well explored as that of the protagonists, because it is through exposing the altruistic and generous attitudes or the evil and frightening actions of these characters that the message that the plot wants passing gains strength, which makes secondary figures more than essential in a narrative, be it animated or live-action.
But, even if their intentions are very well explored, they are not the protagonists of the plot in which they are inserted, therefore, some details about the personality or history of these characters end up leaving a taste of wanting more, making fans wish that their past or future is presented in a standalone film.
With that in mind, below is a list of 5 secondary Disney characters that could have their origins or their next steps exposed in a solo film. Check out!
1. Genius
Introduced in ‘Aladdin’ (1992), the Genie is one of the most thought-provoking characters in disney. The blue being who was imprisoned for 10,000 years in a magic lamp appears at the end of the film, packing his bags and revealing his greatest desire now that he is finally free: to travel and see the world.
Thus, a Genie solo movie could be produced showing his adventures around the globe. Or even, a series of special shorts showing each of the places he visited.
2. Evil Queen

Just like Cruella (101 Dalmatians) who received a solo feature film in live-action starring Emma Stone, the villain of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ (1937), Evil Queen, could win a film that addresses her origin, focusing on her upbringing and the reasons that led her to develop the evil and narcissistic behavior that almost caused the death of the young princess.
3. Striped Cat

Striped Cat, Cheshire Cat and Cheshire Cat. In addition to the different names, the enigmatic character that appeared in the books and that was presented on the screens through ‘Alice in Wonderland’ (1951), could win a solo plot that would answer some of the biggest questions that surround the character, explaining what are and how his abilities work, what kind of being he is or even where he came from.
4. Megara

Megara’s story could generate a solo origin narrative, addressing how she got involved with Hades before the events seen in ‘Hercules’ (1997) and what were the reasons why she ended up being imprisoned by the Greek God of the underworld.
5. Charlotte LaBouff

Tiana’s best friend, Charlotte LaBouff, appeared in ‘The Princess and the Frog’ (2009), where audiences got to know the restless and generous side of the young princess. Thus, a film starring her could address what happened after she gave up her dream of marrying a prince to see her friend’s happiness: Has she finally found her ideal partner? Has she found a new purpose?
