TXT’s Soobin Reveals That KARA Members Were His “First Loves”

soobinfrom TXT, revealed in an interview with Esquire Korea (via Soompi) that the members of KARA were his “first loves”, when he stated that Gyuri, Hara, Seungyeon, Youngji, Nicole and Jiyoung became, even during his childhood, the first idols he really liked.

The statement came as he detailed behind the scenes of the 2022 MAMA Awards, as after the awards, the idol had revealed through messages to fans that he shed a few tears while following KARA’s reunion at the ceremony.

I cried. With my limbs adding to the story, it was misinterpreted as if I had been crying for three hours.” Soobin revealed, “I actually shed a tear or two. Just for about a minute,” explained the idol.

In addition, the TXT leader revealed that, unlike his friends – and influenced by his sister – he grew up following KARA.

Since I was younger, I really liked KARA. To be honest, during KARA’s heyday, I was very young, so they weren’t the idols that kids my age usually liked. Since my older sister was an idol fan, she always had music concerts playing and I naturally started to like them.

soobinwho is now 22 years old, also revealed that, having grown up following the group so closely, made him wait anxiously for almost ten years for the meeting to happen, so it was inevitable not to get emotional.

That’s why, unlike my other friends, I was the only fan of KARA. I’ve waited a long time for this presentation [do MAMA] and I thought I had to watch it anyway, so while I was getting my hair and makeup done in the waiting room, I ran out and watched it on the TV in the hallway. When the first performance started, I automatically cried. They were my first loves. The first idols I liked.”
