DoorDash Driver Saves Woman’s Life Bleeding While Delivering Food: ‘My Guardian Angel’ –

The DoorDash driver was in the right place at the right time.

Sophia Furtado, a delivery driver in Massachusetts, was honored as a hero after taking fearless action to save a user’s life.

On Feb. 11, Karin Hebert Sullivan ordered a late dinner, and Furtado delivered the order to his address in the small community of Fairhaven on the west island.

Sullivan’s Order was Furtado’s last stop for the night. However, when he arrived for food around 10pm, he found the client unconscious and his head was bleeding from the base of his leg.

Furtado, who had EMT training, quickly intervened. He entered the house and complained to Sullivan’s wife, Robert, who was lying inside.

“I remember lying in my car thinking, ‘It’s almost over,’” recalls Sullivan. “I was lying there and I saw a lot of white clouds,” he told CNN.

Sullivan, with injuries to the front hand and bad knee, was waiting outside to give birth before falling and hitting himself, CNN reported.

During phone conversations on the emergency health services switchboard, Furtado quickly helped Sullivan by wrapping a blanket and towel around the wound to apply gentle pressure, the Fairhaven Police Department said.

The cunning driver updated Sullivan’s condition with a message that gave officers and doctors important information they needed to save his life.

Furtado remained with Sullivan until officers and doctors arrived.

Sullivan said he was in the hospital three weeks after the accident and suffered two severe brain hemorrhages.

“I’m so grateful to him, he’s my guardian angel,” Sullivan said. “Thank God he was there.

In a Facebook post about the incident, the Fairhaven Police Department wrote, “Anyone first interviewed can tell you that what Sophia did that night was not something anyone would do.” People who have worked in this field are there was enough time to see people running, running, running, picking up the phone or just watching. He saved lives. ”

The brave delivery boy received a life-saving award and $ 1,000 scholarship from DoorDash at a ceremony Wednesday.

GMEC-EMTThe accredited training institution, which employs EMS professionals, was so impressed with his heroism that they offered him a discounted rate on their EMT program if he was interested in joining.

“We think he has what he needs,” the Fairhaven Police Department said.
