Vanessa Hudgens isn’t holding back her thoughts on Austin Butler, whose voice makes people think he’s permanently blocked sounds like Elvis Presley.
Hudgens, who has been dating Butler for about nine years, commented on an Instagram post that brought to light a recent comment by the “Elvis” star’s voice coach that the actor’s voice was “genuine” and “undisguised.”
“I don’t know how long it’s going to last or if it’s going to be there forever,” Irene Bartlett told ABC’s Gold Coast in the Golden Globe-winning actor’s Presley accent, per Page Six.
“I’m crying,” Hudgens wrote under the post, which includes memes featuring Butler’s voice.
Hudgens’ comment comes after fans pointed out that Butler’s voice still sounded similar to Presley’s during her appearance at the Golden Globes earlier this month.
After winning best actor at the awards, Butler told reporters that he still didn’t think he would sound like Presley.
“But I think I have to, because I feel a lot,” she said.
“I often compare it to living in another country for a long time,” she continued. “I had three years where [Elvis] it was my only purpose in life, so I’m sure there are just pieces of my DNA that will always be connected that way.”
