According to the magazine, Brainiac would be the great villain of ‘Man of Steel 2’, a film canceled by DC. Understand!
We are all curious about the direction that Peter Safran and James Gunn will give to the DC Comics universe, which must undergo a total reset. One of the biggest questions raised by fans was about what would be the plot of the sequel to ‘Man of Steel’, a film that was canceled by the studio recently.
According to sources at The Hollywood Reporter, one of the villains who would have been confirmed in the film, if the cancellation had not happened, would be Brainiac, one of Superman’s greatest enemies right after Lex Luthor.
The magazine states that the film was already underway, and had Pam Abdy and Michael DeLuca as co-directors, who wanted a sequel starring Henry Cavill🇧🇷 The duo would have even hired steven knight creator of ‘Peaky Blinders’, to write the screenplay for the feature.
With the position taken by Gunn-Safran in early November, the project was shelved and, according to THR, the second film of ‘Man of Steel’ had production discarded. With the departure of the DCU star, his appearance on ‘The Flash’ would also be in jeopardy.
A few days ago, Cavill confirmed that he is stepping down from his role as Superman. the screenwriter James Gunn commented on the subject, and made it clear in a post on Twitter that the doors of DC would be open if there is a possibility of the star returning, in addition to stating that the departure of henry happened as the team is looking for someone younger for the role.
