Metinvest Group companies will ensure the manufacture of 90,000 body armor for Ukrainian defenders.
Metallurgists of Rinat Akhmetov’s businesses produce approximately 20 tons of specially armored steel per week for the manufacture of 2,000 bulletproof vests, Metinvest Group reports.
Overall, the company will produce 90,000 pieces of ammunition for the military. Another 10,000 ready-made body armor, helmets and first aid kits, were purchased by Metinvest overseas.
“While our military is fighting on the front lines, metalurgists can protect their lives even from afar. To do this, Metinvest will provide Ukraine’s defenders with 100,000 bulletproof vests,” the report said.
It was noted that all the steel from which the armor plates were made was in the 4th level of protection. It withstood not only the hit from small arms, but also the hit of fragments of artillery shells.
It should be noted that Metinvest also purchased more than 8,000 helmets, approximately 25,000 medical tourniquets, turnstiles and first aid kits, as well as 1,100 thermal imagers for Ukraine’s defenders.
In addition, the company moved to the front more than 100 pieces of equipment – both expert and passenger cars, and 40 thousand liters of fuel.
