Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and the World Bank’s Regional Director for Eastern Europe Arup Banerjee signed an agreement to provide Ukraine with a $4.5 billion grant. It was reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, November 24.
“These grant funds were provided by the United States and directed to the Multi-Donor Trust Fund as the third additional fund under the Public Expenditure Support for Sustainable Governance in Ukraine project,” the statement said.
The funds raised will be used to provide pension payments and certain state social assistance programs, such as payment for housing and community services, support for low-income families, disabled children and disabled from childhood, IDPs, as well as for payment for medical services. under the medical guarantee program, etc.
Earlier, the United States announced that it would begin disbursing funds to Ukraine from a $4.5 billion grant in the “coming weeks.”
Also this week it became known that Ukraine received 2.5 billion euros in financial aid from the European Union. Since February 24, the total amount of EU aid provided to Ukraine has reached 6.7 billion euros.
