In Peru, 17 million 632 thousand people are employed, but only 23.9% are officially employed, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).

It should be noted that nine out of ten workers who have received only primary education or have a lower educational level, have informal work.
In addition, companies with 1 to 10 employees have the largest number of informal jobs.

Of the total number of economically active population, 732 thousand 400 people are unemployed. This means that 4% of Peruvians were unemployed.

Last year, the median income of Peruvians was estimated to be S$1,558.3 per month. This is 7.3% more than in 2021.
