The largest number of loans was added to the register in January-February 2022 – before the Russian invasion.

The number of new debts of Ukrainians in the Unified Register of Debtors since the beginning of the year increased by 944,277 or 14% compared to the beginning of the year. This was announced by the Opendatabot platform on Monday, October 31.

It is indicated that the largest number of loans – 857,578 – was added to the register in January-February 2022 – before the Russian invasion. From March to August, the register was filled with 441,311 loans. However, in September-October, the total number of debts decreased and almost reached the level of February 2022.

When compared to the corresponding period last year (January-October), the growth rate decreased from 22% to 14%.

Also in 2022, the top reasons why Ukrainians often go to ERD have changed. Currently, the most actively growing categories are:

  • fines for administrative offenses – +228 515 (+21%)

  • traffic fines – +255,648 (+19%). Perhaps, a number of debtors for this very reason is due to the fact that, in fact, from May to October, the auto-fixation cameras have continued their work, but the registers are still closed . Therefore, almost all services that reported fines did not work.

  • arrears for a communal apartment – +89,666 (+18%).

At the same time, alimony debts during this period increased by only 3%, or by 5,452.

Earlier it was reported that a resident of Kiev, who kidnapped the wife of a friend, was detained. Therefore, he tried to pressure his friend, who owed him a large sum of money.
