Ukraine will receive one billion euros from the European Union to restore the energy system, which will make it possible not to increase Ukrenergo tariffs, the business is sure.
Ukrenergo can refuse to raise tariffs for its services thanks to financial aid from the European Union, which plans to give Ukraine 1 billion euros to restore the energy system. This was said by the President of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce ICC Ukraine Volodymyr Shchelkunov.
He recalled that the EU will give Ukraine one billion euros and 400 generators to restore the energy system. “And we think that this is a reason to reconsider Ukrenergo’s plans to increase the tariff,” said Shchelkunov.
The Chamber of Commerce believes that the authorities should seek funds from international partners not only for defense, but also to support businesses, which are now in a deep crisis.
“We fully understand the titanic effort made by Ukrenergo to balance the grid and the need for funds that the company needs. At the same time, it should be understood that the conditions in which the business operates are extremely difficult. A number of industrial enterprises have stopped not only because of the hostilities, but because of the economic conditions and tariff increases, this will not work in favor of the business,” explained Schelkunov.
Therefore, the business called on the authorities to carefully study how the increase in Ukrenergo tariffs will affect the Ukrainian economy.
“I believe that before the adoption of Ukrenergo’s plan to increase tariffs, hearings should be held with clear and transparent arguments. And if possible find another way to not burden the unnecessary business, a way must be found, “Schelkunov summed up.
As you know, Ukrenergo started increasing the tariff for electricity transmission immediately by 273%, from 62 to 232.03 UAH / MWh, as well as for electricity transmission by 84% – from 345 to 636.17 UAH / MWh.
Recall that Ukrenergo has applied restriction schedules for industrial and other consumers throughout Ukraine for two days in a row.
