Before the onset of cold weather, the Ministry of Defense added stocks of body armor, helmets and winter uniforms.
A reserve of 200,000 body armor and 100,000 helmets has been formed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said on Thursday, October 27.
“At the moment, a reserve has been formed for bulletproof vests – about 200 thousand. Regarding helmets – about 100 thousand. This is despite the constant movement, issuing new units and releasing them in return,” he said.
Malyar draws attention to cases of abuse of trust in cases of crowdfunding for bulletproof vests and helmets.
“The fact that it is for these two positions that the funds are raised – we have repeatedly mentioned: check to whom you give money, who gives it,” said the deputy minister.
He also said that within a week the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided more than 6,000 body armor, more than 8,000 helmets, more than 30,000 pairs of shoes, of which 28,000 were winter shoes.
“Regarding the winter jackets, which are now under careful control. About 58,000 have been registered in a week. A large number are in various stages of transfer to the warehouses. Today, more than 100,000 jackets are moving in Ukraine and abroad in the direction of warehouses,” said Malyar.
Also, more than 60 thousand winter pants, more than 77 thousand jackets of a warming suit, more than 81 thousand sets of demi-season and winter underwear were given to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It should be noted that stocks of uniforms for the Armed Forces of Ukraine have increased significantly since July.
