In August of this year, two men on a social network spoke obscenely about Ukrainians fleeing a full-scale war.
In the Czech city of Kladno, a local court sentenced two bloggers to prison for hate speech against Ukrainians. This was reported by Novinky.
It was noted that Patrick Tushl was sentenced to ten months in prison and Tomas Cermak to six months in prison. This is the minimum possible sentence, in this case both face three years in prison.
The verdict was handed down on the same day the court began hearing the case. Both defendants, who are still in custody, were brought to court by an escort.
In his statement at the indictment, Tuschl said he had nothing against Ukrainians in general, but condemned, including the actions of some Ukrainian nationalists. He apologized for the profanity used in the video. At the same time, he added that he feels innocent, but the form of the video is inappropriate.
In this regard, Cermak told the judge that he made a mistake, and also recognized the inappropriate language.
The prosecution is initiated by the prosecutor for slandering a country, race, ethnic group or other group of people, as well as for inciting hatred against a group of people or restricting their rights and freedom
“Ukrainians are starting to come here, one demonstration after another. We must act, otherwise we will go to hell,” one of the men said while recording the video.
Earlier it was reported that in the north of the Czech Republic, unknown persons painted in front of the pedestal erected in honor of the fallen soldier of the Red Army.
