The work of 11,000 of the 25,000 terminals is paid for by several countries, organizations and individuals, said the head of SpaceX.
SpaceX is losing up to $20 million per month servicing Starlink Internet terminals in Ukraine, but has not refused to provide services. This was announced by the head of the company Elon Musk in Twitter on Wednesday, October 19th.
“SpaceX is losing about $20 million a month in unpaid services and costs associated with increased security measures for military cyber protection, but we’ll keep doing it (sigh), ” Musk wrote in a comment on a tweet by one of the bloggers who wrote that SpaceX has still not received anything for providing Internet through the Starlink network to Ukraine.
According to Elon Musk, some countries, organizations and individuals are paying for the work of 11 thousand out of 25 thousand terminals, but there is no money from the US Department of Defense.
Remember, on October 14, Musk announced that he had decided to refuse to finance Starlink in Ukraine, but changed his mind the next day.
And in early October, Elon Musk proposed his own formula for “peace” between Ukraine and Russia, which includes holding referendums in the occupied territories under UN supervision, surrendering Crimea, and Ukraine’s neutral status.
The businessman’s proposal caused a flurry of criticism, both in Ukrainian society and abroad.
