Will this measure solve a possible food crisis?
After Midagri’s failed attempts to buy fertilizer to distribute to farmers at a social price, the government decided to create a bond that subsidizes fertilizer payments for a group of agricultural producers. But can these actions stop a possible food crisis caused by rising fertilizer prices?
Development Research Network economist Monica Munoz-Najar notes that the purpose of this measure is not only to solve the food crisis, but also to support farmers.
