The harvest of barley, rapeseed and wheat is fully completed. Harvesting of corn and soybeans is just beginning.
On September 23, Ukrainian farmers harvested 30.26 million tons of main crops from the total area of 9.1 million hectares (61%), according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy on Friday, September 23.
So, the barley and rapeseed harvest is over. Wheat is harvested from 99% of the area, peas – from 98%, millet – from 64%, buckwheat – from 40%, sunflower – from 14%, soybeans – from 6%, sugar beet – 5%, corn – up to 1%.
The amount of barley harvest reached 5.5 million tons from 1.6 million hectares, rapeseed – 3.1 million tons from 1.96 million hectares.
Also threshed 19.2 million tons of wheat from 4.7 million hectares, 1.29 million tons of sunflower (+370 thousand tons) from 478 thousand hectares (+194 thousand hectares), 469 thousand tons of sugar beet (+135 thousand tons) ) from 9.2 thousand hectares (+3 thousand hectares), 250.7 thousand tons of peas (unchanged) from 109.4 thousand hectares, 228 thousand tons of soybeans (+56 thousand tons) from 97.7 thousand hectares (+26.2 thousand hectares), 68.1 thousand tons of millet (+9.5 thousand tons thousand tons) from 28.8 thousand hectares (+2.9 thousand hectares), 66.1 thousand tons of buckwheat (+7.6 thousand tons) from 47.2 thousand hectares (+6.7 thousand hectares), as well as 92.2 thousand tons of corn (+28.5 thousand tons ) from 20.9 thousand ha (+8.7 thousand ha).
The average yield for all crops in the current season is 38.4 centners per hectare, including corn – 44.1 centners per hectare, wheat – 41 centners per hectare, barley – 34.7 centners per hectare, rapeseed – 28.5 centners./2.9 c . / ha, soybeans – 23.3 c / ha, millet – 23.7 c / ha, sunflower – 19.2 c / ha, buckwheat – 14 c / ha, sugar beet – 512 c/ha.
It is expected that due to Russia’s occupation of the territories, this year it lost up to 10 million tons of crops.
According to the macro forecast, due to the war, this year’s harvest will fall by 34% and by almost 7% next year, to 45 million tons.
