Western partners have given Ukraine $17.4 billion in financial aid, almost half of it in the form of grants.
Since the start of the war with Russia, Ukraine has received $17.422 billion from partners, or 52% of declared aid totaling $33.325 billion, the Ministry of Finance reported on Friday, September 16.

At the same time, Ukraine received $8.524 billion in grants.
The United States and the European Union announced the largest support for Ukraine – $12.99 billion and $11.6 billion, of which in the form of grants was only $144 million.
The top five donors were closed by Canada, the IMF and Germany – respectively $1.521 billion, $1.41 billion and $1.373 billion, of which only Germany gave a grant of $1.373 billion.
The UK is next, announcing $1.102 billion in support for Ukraine’s budget, of which it has so far provided $577 million, including $128 million in grants.
Since the beginning of the war, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank and Japan have been donors to the Ukrainian budget in the amount of $500 million to $1 billion – $929 million, $720 million and $581 million, respectively – all these funds have received and all in the form of loans.
The Ministry of Finance also indicated that since the beginning of the war, the financing of the budget deficit of UAH 315 billion, or the equivalent of $10.152 billion, has been covered by the National Bank through the direct purchase of war bonds.
On the eve it became known that Ukraine will receive 5 billion euros from the European Union in mid-October, and by the end of the year Brussels should allocate another 3 billion.
