Since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has already earned more from the export of electricity than the whole of the previous year.
For the eight months of 2022, income from electricity exports increased 1.7 times compared to the same period in 2021, to $278.75 million, according to the State Customs Service.

Most of the electricity is supplied to Poland – $92.689 million, Slovakia – $59.364 million, Hungary – $44.688 million, other countries – $82.009 million.
In particular, in August, proceeds from electricity exports reached $73.112 million compared to $27.474 million in August last year.
At the same time, in January-August 2022, Ukraine imported electricity in the amount of $119.067 million against $59.394 million for the same period last year. Almost the entire volume was exported from Belarus – $100.414 million.
It should be noted that in 2021, Ukraine reduced electricity export revenue by 8.5% to $256.941 million. Imports also fell from $131.605 million to $87.345 million.
As is known, in July Ukraine started to export electricity to European countries. At the moment, Ukraine provides 300 MW, but the volume can increase nine times – up to 2,700 MW.
