More than half of the Internet’s 5.4 billion users are concentrated in Asia and the Middle East, the department said.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Vodafone Group have agreed to lay a submarine cable in the Black Sea to improve internet connectivity. The press service of the department reported this on Monday, September 5.
“In order to use foreign online services faster and safer, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has agreed to cooperate with the international company VodafoneGroup. The plans include the construction of a submarine cable across the Black Sea, the opening of new data centers and the strengthening of the existing network,” the message said.
It is noted that more than half of the 5.4 billion Internet users are concentrated in Asia and the Middle East, so new technologies require the exchange of large amounts of data. And laying the cable in Ukraine will allow our state to become a digital hub in Europe.
Recall that Ukraine and the UK are preparing an agreement on digital trade. So far, London has concluded a Digital Economy Agreement with Singapore alone.
