The national energy company Ukrenergo earned about UAH 1.92 billion from the sale of an interstate crossing for the export of electricity to Romania and Slovakia from late June to August 21 inclusive. Interfax-Ukraine reported this on Monday, August 22.

According to the results of Ukrenergo’s daily auction in these areas, the crossing in the third week of August cost exporters UAH 477.3 million, which is 65% more than the previous week (almost UAH 289 million). Crossing in Romania costs UAH 253.8 million, in Slovakia – UAH 223.5 million.
The weighted average price of access to interstate power transmission lines in the direction of the EU on August 15-21 increased by more than one and a half times, compared to the previous week, amounting to UAH 11.3 thousand / MWh (this is about UAH 6.9 thousand / MWh). Six to nine companies participate in each auction.
The highest price of crossing in both directions was recorded in the evening hours of Friday, August 19: in Romania 19.3 thousand UAH / MWh (the record figure remains 21.7 thousand UAH / MWh), in Slovakia – 18, UAH 2 thousand /MWh (the record is UAH 21.27 thousand/MWh).
Recall that on June 27, the transmission system operators of continental Europe (ENTSO-E) agreed on the start of commercial export of Ukrainian electricity to EU countries. And the import-export of electricity to Romania for 100 MW started on June 30. In almost a month, Ukraine exported electricity worth UAH 500 million.
It was also reported that Ukraine was allowed to increase the volume of electricity exports to the EU by two and a half times – up to 250 MW.
