With coming Qatar World Cup 2022and seasons like Christmas, lWineries see sales increase and they even expect an increase of at least 10%, according to the Association of Vintners of Peru (ABP).
“During these seasons, the products that will be most active in marketing will be beverages such as soft drinks, rehydrating drinks, as well as ice cream, snacks and others,” ABP President Andres Choi told management.
According to him V National Economic Census (CENEC) of the National Institute for Statistics and Informatics (INEI) that more than a million establishments are registered determined that 3 out of 10 premises are warehouses; that is, only in the case of commercial premises it was found that three out of ten establishments are wineriess, 24% are restaurants, and another 21% are engaged in the production of clothing.
They were affected by the economic situation, which led to the closure of at least 9,000 stores last year, as they cannot withstand inflation and many use their products for their own consumption.
According to Andres Choi, inflation changed prices every 15 days; although now with the expectation of improving sales by 10%there is also a slowdown in price growth, as now the increase is observed every three weeks.
“This trend is expected to continue to help wineries that are in a survival situation and are losing capital. As long as prices remain constant, business profits are absorbed. If the increase is delayed a little longer, we may be able to see a profit, albeit a small one,” he said.
bad forecasts
According to Andres Choi, in July of this year, they expected to recover; but sales did not increase. The situation has also forced several owners to diversify their sales, some in addition to selling food, offer over-the-counter pharmacy products, they have become bookstores or in the markets.
Diversification has halted space closures since the second quarter of this year; although no others have been discovered. According to Kantar research, for the fourth quarter of the year, household consumption is expected to grow by at least 1.8% with the advent of the World Cup, which will benefit the wineries.
