Fields sown with wheat and barley are almost completely threshed, but the harvest of corn and sunflowers has not yet begun.

Ukrainian farmers harvested from an area of ​​6.1 million hectares (55%). As of August 19, 23.4 million tons of new crop grain was threshed, according to the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

“Grains and leguminous crops were harvested in an area of ​​6.1 million hectares (55%) with a yield of 38.2 centners per hectare. 23.4 million tonnes of grains were harvested,” the report said.

In particular, collected:

  • wheat – 17.4 million tons from 4.3 million hectares (91%) (yield – 40.4 q/ha);

  • barley 5.3 million tons from 1.5 million hectares (96%) (yield – 34.5 q / ha);

  • peas – 243.7 thousand tons from 108 thousand hectares (97%) (yield – 22.6 q/ha);

  • millet – 7.7 thousand tons from 3.2 thousand hectares (7%) (yield – 23.9 q/ha).

  • rapeseed – 3.1 million tons of rapeseed from an area of ​​1.77 hectares.

It was noted that the agrarians of Mykolaiv and Transcarpathia completed the harvest of crops of the first part of the group. Agricultural producers of Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Odessa regions harvested more than 2 million tons of grain, while Vinnitsa, Volyn, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy regions harvested more than one million tons of grain each.

The highest yield of grain and leguminous crops is in the Khmelnytsky region – 62 centners per hectare.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy increased the forecast for the 2022 harvest from 60 million tons to 65-67 million tons compared to last year’s 106.5 million tons.

During the 2022 sowing campaign, 14.16 million hectares of land were sown during the war – this is 83.7% of the figures for the previous year (16.92 million hectares).
