Due to the shelling, the work of the Shebelinsky gas processing plant and the Kremenchug refinery was completely stopped.
The Russian invaders caused great damage to the Ukrainian oil and gas industry. The head of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, spoke about the losses in an interview with NV Business.

“If we talk about a full-scale war, since February 24, first, we lost many of our oil and processing assets. The same Shebelinsky gas processing plant. Because of the missiles. It does not work and cannot work in the near future ” he said.
A similar situation is at the Kremenchug oil refinery.
“There are Ukrtransnafta facilities near Kremenchug, there are rocket attacks on targets, the infrastructure is damaged. We cannot discuss this for military reasons, but our oil and processing infrastructure is very badly damaged, the same oil depots, Ukrnafta has a lot of damage, ” said Vitrenko.
At the same time, according to him, the situation with underground storage facilities is not so critical.
“There is no new critical situation with underground storage facilities, we also have storage facilities in the previously occupied territories. As for production… Some facilities are located in the newly occupied territory, but they are a minority. The problem is rather very significant production in Kharkiv areas, and there are active hostilities. In many places – near our facilities where people work. I was there personally, and half an hour before arrival, the shelling, you hear and see everything – 7 km to the front line. And people in these working conditions, extract gas. All this is very difficult. Almost 50% of our production comes from the region of Kharkiv, “said the head of Naftogaz.
In June, Vitrenko reported that daily gas production in Ukraine had fallen by 6.1% since the start of the Russian invasion.
According to experts, by the end of the year, production will fall to 16 billion cubic meters from 19.8 billion cubic meters. m in 2021 (a decrease of 2.2%).
