General registrations in the EU, Great Britain and the European Free Trade Association in August rose to 800 thousand cars. Volkswagen and Renault sales rose 4.8%and 7.8%, respectively, while Stellantis increased by 2.2%.
Tesla, on the contrary, lost 36.6% of EU sales, which reduced market sharing to 1.2% with 2% a year before. At the same time, BYD increased sales by 201,3%, which received 1.3% of the European market. Another Chinese manufacturer, the SAIC motor, owned the MG brand, raised sales by 59.4%, carrying a portion to 1.9% and took place in the tenth place to the most popular EU automakers since the beginning of the year.
The total portion of electric vehicles, hybrids and plugin hybrids in the European Union rose 62.2% in August 2025 against 52.8% a year before.
