The previous note was recorded in the first half of March, that was, six months ago, when in Ukraine, in half months, dairy products were imported by $ 13.2 million.
In Ukraine, in the first half of August, importing dairy products has grown to $ 14.7 million – this is the highest indicator from the beginning of the year for similar times. This was reported by the Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine (SMPP).
It was noted that the previous note was recorded in the first half of March, that was, half a year ago, when in Ukraine, $ 13.2 million was imported in Ukraine in half a month. In financial terms, imports increased 30% compared to the first half of July and almost one and a half times associated with the first half of June.
“In natural terms, growth is recorded in almost all commodity positions, except for serum, importation of which is reduced by a third. The largest increase, 25%, is observed in the cheese group: More than 1.8 thousand tons of these products are exported to the country. This is the position of this commodity that covers the lion’s lion in the cost of the cost of import (nearly 85%),” of SMPP.
For the first time since March, the foreign trade trade in milk products has been negative: the importation of these products in Ukraine has exceeded the export of $ 4.3 million.
According to analysts, such a significant increase in imports occurred due to the growth of domestic prices for raw milk in Ukraine, which took place in the second half of July (+5%) and continued in August. The competitiveness of domestic products is slightly reduced, making imports more attractive.
Ukraine’s Union of Dairy Enterprises added that such dynamics affects the country’s payment balance and requires a balanced pricing approach to the domestic market market.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine in May 2025 significantly increased export of dairy products – compared to April, volumes increased by a quarter, while income – to a third.
Remember that products for products in Ukraine approach European, some of which have exceeded them.
