According to the publication, negotiations with the Russians in the format behind closed doors from Exxon were led by the company’s senior vice-president Neil Chapman. Rosneft is represented by executive director Igor Sechin.
At the same time, company CEO Darren Woods met at the White House with US president Donald Trump and Sumang said the US administration would contribute to the return of exxon to investment in the Russian Federation.
It is noted that Russia is interested in the rapid restoration of Exxon relationships to save its economy. Rosneft and Exxon, according to people familiar with the situation, maintained the secret communication channel throughout the war.
