The European Commissioner for the expansion of Marta Cos on Tuesday, August 26, met with Nabu and SAP leadership and expressed support for their activities. He wrote about it on Social Network X based on the results of the meeting.
“I recognized Nabu’s leadership and the SAP: their resistance to corruption was important for Ukraine’s entry into the EU and its restoration,” Kos wrote.
Martha Kos also expressed support for the director of Nabu Semyon Krivonos and head of SAP Alexander Klimenko.
“I once again expressed my full support for their work: independent anti -corruption bodies are the basis of the rules of law and a healthy business climate,” European commissioner emphasized.
As you know, on July 22, Verkhovna Rada voted for Bill No. 12414, which limited the independence of Nabu and SAP and made them dependent on the decisions of the general prosecutor. The law was then signed by Parliament spokesman Ruslan Stefanchuk and President Vladimir Zelensky. This happened against the rear of protests in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine. People have asked to treat the law.
On July 24, against the remembrance of Western partners, Zelensky introduced a Rada bill, provided for the cancellation of previous law’s restrictions. And soon the parliament voted unanimously for him.
