In July, budget expenditures were reduced by about 25%, the people’s representative said, but he clarified that debts to the Ministry of Defense and VAT refunds were not taken into account.

Ukraine’s state budget expenditures in July decreased by a quarter compared to June. The first state budget data for July was published by People’s Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on Monday, August 1.

According to him, in July state budget expenses reached UAH 175 billion against UAH 232 billion in June and UAH 250 billion in May.

“True, this does not take into account the billions of budget debts to the Ministry of Defense and the VAT has not been returned. So, in fact, more,” added Zheleznyak.

According to him, tax and customs revenues in July amounted to UAH 86.9 billion.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada announced a sharp increase in budget revenues. In July, the general fund received UAH 64 billion, which is 61.9% (UAH 24.5 billion) more than in July 2021.

According to the Ministry of Finance, due to the war for half a year, the budget deficit was UAH 406.1 billion. The country’s leadership believes that by the end of the year, the deficit may exceed $50 billion.
