Today, the first loaded ship left the Ukrainian port, and by the end of the week, empty ships could start coming in to load grain.
The first ships may begin entering Ukraine along the grain corridor by the end of the week, Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said.
“By the end of the week, we expect the first ships to call at our ports… The first two ports – Odessa and Chernomorsk – are ready, and this week we will both send ships from them and ships are expected to come in. By the end of the week We hope that the port of Pivdenny will also be ready,” said the minister.
He added that ships could start calling at Pivdenny port from the beginning of next week.
According to him, the port of Nikolaev can also be connected to the work of “grain corridors”.
“I hope that if this initiative works, we will soon move to consultations in the port of Nikolaev. Considering that active hostilities are taking place there, we did not include this port in the first stage, but we did not forget anything and we will work too,” he added.
It will be recalled that on July 22, an agreement was signed in Istanbul on the launch of a “grain corridor” from Ukraine. It started working on August 1 – the first ship with Ukrainian grain left the port of Odessa with 26,000 tons of corn for Lebanon.
