European Parliament voted for Bulgaria’s entry into Eurozone

The Parliament report will be transferred to the Eurozone member countries so they can provide a final permit for admission.

Representatives of the European Parliament on Tuesday, July 8, approved the Bulgaria application to switch to the Euro and its upbringing to Eurozone from January 1, 2026. It was reported by the UKRinform.

The report on adherence to Bulgaria with all the necessary criteria was supported at a plenary meeting at Strasbourg 531 votes, 69 representatives spoke “against”, 79 avoiding.

“The vote now sends a clear signal: Bulgaria is ready to join the Eurozone. All the criteria are taken, and this step marked the main milestone on the way to the complete integration of Europe of Bulgaria – both for the country and its citizens,” said spokesman Eva Maydel.

The end of Parliament will be transferred to members of the country of eurozone, which should provide Bulgaria a final permit for entry. After this confirmation of Bulgaria will become a 21 -member Eurozone member.

Remember that in June the European Commission agreed with the introduction of the Euro to Bulgaria. The country has fulfilled all the necessary conditions to move to a single currency in Europe from January 1, 2026.
