The new agreement is fully considered the sensitivity of some agricultural sectors, drawn by the EU member state and farmers.
The European Commission on June 30 completed negotiations in Ukraine to change the in -Depth and compassionate zone of free trade between the EU and Ukraine. DW reported it.
It is noted that the parties have reached a major agreement on the change of regulations for trade liberalization within the outline of the organization’s agreement.
“This step marks a new phase in the creation of Long -Term, Predictable and Member Framework in the context of Ukraine’s entry into the EU,” said the European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security, Marosh Shefchovich.
The new agreement is “fully considered the sensitivity of some agricultural sectors, emphasized by EU member states and farmers.”
He also added that the agreement was “balanced, fair and realistic, it was the best possible result in difficult geopolitical conditions.”
Despite the fact that technical details have not been reported, it is known that compared to the “pre -war” quotas, the conditions for Ukrainian manufacturers have operated since June 6.
In particular, Brussels and Kyiv agreed with complete trade liberalization of a number of products, including dry fats, dairy products, mushrooms, grape juice, etc.
For most agricultural products, current quotas will grow to the highest trading level. It is, in particular, butter, dry fat, malt, gluten, oats and barley cereals.
While “sensitive goods”, such as eggs, sugar and wheat, the quotas will increase, but less than the historical trading volume. In these categories of goods, EU protective mechanisms will continue to operate so that importation does not cause “serious difficulties” at the level of the whole block or individual state. For less sensitive goods, the quotas will increase “moderate”.
For its part, Ukraine will increase quotas for pork, chicken meat, sugar, and reduce or cancel duties to import other goods. This will help to increase export opportunities for EU countries.
In addition, the agreement provides for Ukraine’s gradual approach to 2028 to EU manufacture standards, especially in animals well areas and the use of pesticides, to provide all participants in the “Equal Game Policy” agreement.
The agreement will be reviewed in the coming years, considering Ukraine’s approach to the EU.
