The Cabinet has offered Verkhovna Rada ministers to increase state budget costs 2025 by UAH 449 billion, of which 412 billion UAH for safety and defense. Prime Minister Denis Shmygal said at a government meeting on Wednesday, June 25.
According to him, in the first five months of this year, the Ministers’ cabinet provides nearly 1 UAH trillion for defense and safety. It’s 2/3 of everything we spend from the state budget. When we compared the same period last year, then we allocated 34% more funding for army and security. And now the government has adopted a bill to change the state budget for 2025.

According to him, another 6.3 billion UAH was planned to be sent by mincifers for the development of a defense change.

Among other things, another 3.1 billion UAH has suggested to be allocated to the Ministry of Health for the purchase of drugs, especially for the treatment of citizens with cancer, viral hepatitis, rare orphan diseases, hemophilia.
“The resources of the scope of these costs are an increase in budget revenues and an increase in internal borrowing. We clearly understand how we financially all costs this year. Continued work is carried out with partners and international financial organizations so that Ukraine has the necessary resources to protect and restore,” Shmygal said.
