Traditionally, in the summer, at the beginning of the admission campaign, the All-Ukrainian Association of Employers’ Organizations in the field of higher education formed the General rating of private institutions of higher education in Ukraine 2022
The rating is compiled based on the results received by these establishments during the year in the generally recognized all-Ukrainian and international ratings.
To determine the TOP-20 best institutions that provide higher education at the expense of individuals and legal entities, VOOROVO specialists summarize data based on the area occupied by private universities in Scopus and TOP- 200 ratings of Ukraine, as well as the number of applicants.
“TOP-200 Ukraine” was created based on open data of direct measurements on web resources of independent national and international organizations and institutions. The ranking is as correct as possible and highly respected for the reasons of ensuring full openness, transparency and independence of the ranking of universities here.
When compiling the Scopus rating, the number of scientific publications written by university students and professors and the number of citations of these publications are taken into account. The value of the rating depends on the fact that it is a marker of the level of professionalism of the scientific and scientific-pedagogical staff of the university and an indicator of the relevance and novelty of scientific research.
The number of applicants, in contrast to the two indicated ratings, indicates the recognition of the institution not only among the professional community, but also among the applicants. The latter is usually based on recognition, reputation, technological equipment of the university and job opportunities with the appropriate diploma.
Therefore, the General rating of private institutions of higher education in Ukraine in 2022, compiled by VOOROVO specialists, is the most balanced and takes into account the assessments of universities received for their activities scientific, the quality of educational services provided, the demand for graduates. in the labor market and the importance of public opinion about them.
TOP-20 of the best private universities in Ukraine in 2022 according to VOOROVO are as follows:

In comparison with last year’s ranking (TOP-20 best private universities in Ukraine in 2021), we see that the leader of the private sector of the domestic higher education system has not changed. For the third year in a row, the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management occupies the first position by a significant margin.
At the same time, Alfred Nobel University, located in Dnipro, dropped from second place to third. And the Lviv University of Trade and Economics continues to actively climb the steps in the Ranking, this year – from 4th place to 2nd (remember that in the previous period this University moved from 6th to 4th place).
The International Humanitarian University returned to the 4th place, which it held in 2020, from the 3rd place, which it climbed in 2021.
The Kyiv School of Economics entered the top five, which was not in the TOP-20 in previous years, and the Ukrainian Catholic University moved from the 5th position to the 7th.
Poltava University of Economics and Trade (climbed one step – from 7th to 6th place), and the University of Economics and Law “KROK” continues to fall in the Ranking for the second year in a row, in this time two positions at once (from 6th to 8th place).
The Open International University for Human Development “Ukraine” (9th place) and the European University (10th place) retained their places in the top ten. While Kyiv University of Culture dropped here (from 8th to 11th place).
This year, the International University of Economics and Humanities named after Academician Stepan Demyanchuk (13th place), which was not included in the Rating in previous years, also entered the TOP-20.
At the same time, we note that all twenty universities are eligible for admission to the education contract form, because they teach popular and sought-after specialties, making higher education more innovative and accessible to all in Ukraine. At the same time, these universities fully comply with all state standards recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, while the TOP-20 leaders are usually powerful innovative institutions and set trends in development of domestic higher education.
